The merging of golf and Ayahuasca for this experience was conceived by PGA Master Professional Christopher Smith. His goal is provide technical (thought precedes action), on-course, and mindset guidance via elite golf instruction & coaching, combined with powerful multi-sensorial experiences - all in a safe environment - for you, the participant.
In conjunction with expert practioners Kitzia Kokopelmana and Victor Napenda of nearby Buena Fortuna Gardens, the Ayahuasca medicine ceremonies focus on a purification process whereby old, limiting and dysfunctional thought patterns and trauma are purged out of the mind/body system; fresh, constructive and liberating insights surface, leading to a more pleasant, productive and panoramic view of your golf game, and life.
The powerful Ayahuasca brew will take you to higher realms, but also will take you into your depths (much like a round of golf - the ever-present peaks and valleys of emotion), your hidden motives and the root of the matter - regardless of how ‘stuck’ and powerless you may feel like you are in your loop of disappointment, frustration or anger.
Ayahuasca therapies have been used successfully to improve mental functions, mood, mindfulness and even addictions, which often have their origins in emotions and trauma. From a golf standpoint, the medicine guides the player to a kinder, more compassionate and forgiving space within them, helping to silence the inner critic, judge and perfectionist.
At the end of the day, the game of golf - like an Ayahuasca ceremony - is an adventure. Different each and every time, where expectations must be tempered - if not eliminated entirely. Intentions reign; expect nothing; be prepared for anything. Most importantly, understand that the game owes you nothing, and its greatest performers are masters of acknowledgement, acceptance, and adjustment.
