SPEED GOLF – “You don’t have to play slowly to play well”

“The most amazing round of golf I’ve ever seen,” commented TJ Lambert, director of programming for ESPN Radio, after watching Smith fire a one-over par 73 in 42 ½ minutes in 2001 during the Fred Meyer Challenge at The Reserve Golf and Vineyards, in Aloha, OR (the course measured nearly 7,200 yards and was home to The Tradition, a Champions Tour event, from 2003-2006).
Christopher’s speed golf show sends a powerful message and represents a unique, entertaining and enlightening addition to any size function or event. The show can consist of three to 18 holes. A brief introduction precedes the ‘interactive’ round; spectators then either watch from a chosen spot on the course, or follow along in a cart or on foot. Smith offers (quick) tips along the way, vividly demonstrating how playing faster can actually improve golf performance. At the conclusion, a Q & A gathering can be followed by instruction at the practice facility and/or on the course. The option for viewers to ‘try their hand’ at a few holes of speed golf can be integrated into any program as well.
"The legend of the man that played 9 holes in 30 minutes with six clubs in one-over-par, will become part of the history of The Greenbrier Sporting Club."
- - Larry Klein, General Manager, The Greenbrier Sporting Club
